Memorial Day Puppy Chow

We're having a little get together with neighbors this Memorial Day. Hanging out back and grilling out is where it's at! I made one of the kids favorite treats for this years Memorial Day dessert... Puppy Chow! My kids absolutely devour Puppy Chow. I've never met a soul who wasn't a fan of this sweet treat!

This Memorial Day Puppy Chow recipe was different than the classic recipe I make because I wanted it to be colorful and festive in red, white, and blue. Continue reading to make this festive, Patriotic Puppy Chow.

Memorial Day Puppy Chow

Ingredients for Memorial Day Puppy Chow:

6 cups Rice Chex divided in two

1 cup red candy melts

1 cup blue candy melts

1+ cups white coated pretzels

1/2 cup red M&Ms

1/2 cup blue M&Ms

1/2 cup yogurt coated raisins

Memorial Day Desserts

Here are the steps to make this Memorial Day Puppy Chow:

-Measure 3 cups Rice Chex into a medium bowl.

-Measure 1 cup powdered sugar into a gallon-sized ziplock bag.

-Melt 1 cup red chocolate melts, either in 15 second bursts in the microwave or in a double boiler (ban Marie).

-Pour melted chocolate over cereal and stir to coat all.

-Pour coated cereal into ziplock bag and shake well until cereal is coated.

-Pour coated cereal onto baking sheet to dry.

**Repeat above process with blue candy melts.

Combine red and blue cereal in large bowl. Add white chocolate covered pretzels, red and blue M&Ms, and yogurt covered raisins. Gently stir.
